The do’s and don’t’s of ballpark food
Friday marks the Phillies home opener, which means the season of tailgates and ballpark food is upon us. Luckily, Self.com asked nutritionists around the country to share the best ways to hit the concession stands without packing on the pounds. We’re sharing a few of our favorite do’s and don’t’s, just in time for the big day at Citizens Bank Park!

How about not constantly stuffing your face for 9 innings? Go to a baseball game, and some people you see won't stop eating. They're either eating, or standing in line to get more food. road515
I think the food, bad or not, is a tradition for the ball park. These are after all "ballpark foods". I think the best thing to do is eat healthy everyday and take a "eat anything you want" day every now and again. WantToKnow

Is the food any worse than vendors and trucks in center city? Hot dogs boiling in putrid water makes for slimy dogs slathered with an almost yellow mustard, after it is watered down. *Chuck*
can't wait for dollar dog days Old German
GTFO with this BS...eat a friggin chili dog box297
I opened this article thinking it may be some piece about ballpark etiquette. Nay the inky decides it's worth the time to write an article stating the obvious (chicken's better than hamburger? thanks captain obvious). do they think we're stupid? Talon1125
The best is when you see these incredibly long lines at the crab fries stand! LOL LOL. OMG, these people act like they've never eaten before. They're FRIES people!! I've made them at home and they're just as good (maybe even better :)!! dundermifflin- these liberal pinheads expect a warm guiness on a hot july afternoon to quench a man's thirst? stick to sipping chablis at pac bell park in san francisco, and let the men in philadelphia enjoy a beer
CBP used to serve fresh pretzels from Federal Pretzel. They dropped them because Super Pretzel demanded a monopoly. It's an insult to eat or serve a Super Pretzel within 90 miles of Philadelphia Drew777- you are 100% correct. super pretzels taste like cardboard. i buy my pretzels outside the park and bring them in
- A Schmidter and Crab Fries with a Diet Coke doesn't do it, huh?
I get my huge roast pork sandwich without cheese to stay healthy kilo_005
the ball game is all about eating and drinking food that is 'bad' for you - beat it! go on now! ikemcmichaels
Can't you just leave us alone? Must you be busybodies even at the ballpark? Gimmemyfreestuff
Eat before you go to the game. Healthier options (cheaper, too). Just Some Guy33
Come on, how often do most people go to game, for most people it's not an everyday event. Enjoy it and worry about the calories another time!!! faxm1- DON'T GO AND WASTE YOUR TIME AN MONEY. AS SIMPLE AS THAT! trailer
people eat like pigs down here SlimFox
The best way to eat healthy is to bring your own food from home or to not eat at all. Given what I see people eating, I don't think eating healthy is a big priority. Phillies2008WSChamps
