R.I.P.? You just proclaimed yourself an atheist two posts ago! Hipocrisy is an interesting trait. People who practice it seldom realize they do.

Have you seen the Al Qaeda video urging its followers to utilize the U.S. loosest-in-the-world gun laws to purchase weapons here? Because everything is available legally, including assault weapons, and there are so many holes in our background check laws (like gun shows and unlicensed dealers), WMD's are cheaper and easier to get here. "Pro-gun" NRA folks might be rejoicing about the spike in gun purchases. But none of us have any real idea of how many of these purchasers are mentally unstable. And of course there are the statistics the the NRA will never talk about- the miniscule number of times that these weapons are successfiully used in self defense compared to the number of deaths to the owners, their children and other family members when there is a gun in the home. The Newtown, CT incident is really quite common as far as the mom and her son. It's just that this time there was a little extra pesky collateral damage.

Why does the media bring up the gun issue with every gun-related slaughter? There's no chance of gun-law reform in the U.S. The NRA can buy and sell every member of Congress ten times over. It wouldn't matter if 20 or 2,000 kids were killed.

Mr. Denniston mentions the Constitution, but only talks about his personal displeasure with the 2nd Amendment. The right to keep and bear arms is the right to self preservation. Without that right, we as a society, are at the mercy of anyone who decides to harm us. Our personal rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are meaningless if we cannot defend ourselves.

wokmaster needs a job. has too much time to sit at home and spew hate to anyone who believes in the Constitution, God and the right to bear arms. Never said I had a gun, never said I would use a gun but people have a right to carry one. The legal gun owners are not the ones running around killing people. That happens by the law abiding (sic) citizens of Phila every weekend. Better to believe in something better (Heaven) or a higher power who promotes peace (God) than to live a life full of hate. Again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Do you celebrate Christmas? You don't have to answer if you are not comfortable with it, just wondering if you will be opening gifts on CHRISTMAS and celebrating with your family? Peace to you my friend.

Does anyone remember personal responsibility? No matter how you decide to take another persons life be it a gun, knife, car, baseball bat, setting them on fire, it was your decision to do so, so therefore it becomes your responsibility. There is more than guns out there killing people. You have parents beating their children and starving them, there are people running each other over. A crazy guy in China in a school slashing students. Were do we stop with what we need to place a law on? People giving birth, knives? It was one crazy a** who is responsible for this tragedy.
