Posted on Wed, Jan 30, 2013
When National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre faces the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee this morning in the first congressional hearing about gun control since the last month's massacre at a Connecticut elementary school, he'll be facing lawmakers who have strong feelings about his organization.

Any statistics on gun crime from Vermont? How does it compare to Philly? How does Phily compare to the rest of Pennsylvania? Do we have demographics from the PPD on the locations of gun crimes in Philly?

Liberals,in this case the gun control lobby, get free propaganda. And the SunLight Foundation is not an honest broker and as such, not a credible source.

What a racist statement you've made, leading me to believe that you are a racist yourself. If the liberal media actually reported in an un-biased way, and if you had an ounce of objectivity, you'd know that guns prevent far more crime than is ever credited. You'd also know that NRA members and concealed carry permit holders commit far less crime than the population at large, even law enforcement. Why do you feel the need to attack the inalienable, constitutional rights of law abiding citizens? It is you who suffers from delusional paranoia.

All politicians are bought and paid for, not just the right or left.

At least NRA members know and approve of what their membership dues go to support. Unions blindly support the Democratic party regardless of the political affiliation of their members. Unions are in fact the largest donator to the Democractic party, but nobody says a peep.

Hypocrites, cry me a river. No one kills more than Planned Parenthood, and they spent over $4 million on JUST BHO last year.

According to SCOTUS, a fetus is not yet a human being thus can't be considered murder.

    Nice try.

I love how NRA donations get all the attention. For a fun project, look out how much the Motion Picture Assocation of America and other Hollywood interest groups have given to Democratic nominees. It dwarfs the spending of the NRA. I want to see the day when these Democratics call on Hollywood to stop producing heinously violent films. I'm not holding my breath. They need the money for re-election.

Shocking!!!! And I'm sure the pols who are against school choice, get no money from the Teachers Union. They all bought and paid for. Al Gore (Mr. Climate Change) took millions from an evil oil company and can still defend himself with a straight face.

N.R.A. Defends Right to Own Politicians

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee today, National Rifle Association C.E.O. Wayne LaPierre warned that the N.R.A. would vigorously oppose any legislation that “limits the sale, purchase, or ownership of politicians.”

“Politicians pose no danger to the public if used correctly,” said Mr. LaPierre, who claims to have over two hundred politicians in his personal collection. “Everyone hears about the bad guys in Congress. Well, the only thing that stops a bad guy with a vote is a good guy with a vote. I’m proud to be the owner of many of those guys.”

Can you imagine the lifestyle these people would lead if there was no NRA or Teachers' union funding lobbying efforts (D and R)? They would have to live like poor corrupt politicians.

Newsflash: all politicians are bought and paid for by a wide variety of interests.

No surprise here. Corporate interests have always been held in higher regard over public safety here in America, especially whenever congressmen have been bought and paid for by lobbyists.

Dig deep enough and you'll find the real dirt behind politics in Washington.

Except that the NRA represents hundreds of thousands (maybe millions)of dues-paying gun owners, so it's not a Corporate interest

How convenient that you leave out the part where the NRA is given money with each weapon sold by various gun manufacturers in this country.

Here is some interesting information as well 'The Sunlight Foundation received $300,000 from the Foundation to Promote Open Society in 2010 and $250,000 from the Open Society Institute in 2008. Both these groups organizations are run by convicted insider trader George Soros.'
