Now let's pass the Equal Rights Amendment, renew the Violence Against Women Act, and stop pretending Roe v Wade didn't become the law in 1973. Let those Republican cavemen running red states try telling a combat veteran that she can't get a legal abortion.

armorcpy: You're showing your sexism. Women are naturally smaller, and better at small motor movements. That's why they make the best violinists. A sniper's job duties are far less physically taxing than an infantryman. Their smaller body structure should allow them to be placed in hard to find spots where they can use their fine motor skills to great efficiency. True, I have never been in the military. I am just going by what my military friends have told me...friends who aren't sexist.

This shows how little you know. The sniper has one of the most physically demanding jobs in the infantry. If a woman is to take on a combat MOS, she better be able to meet the physical requirements. I'm all for letting them try, but don't think for a moment that it will be easy.

It's all just a phoney PC move. Just because more combat positions are opened to women doesn't meant the Military will assign women to them. The Military still has the authority to determine who is best suited for each position. They will just do what they always do and assign mostly Men to almost all the combat positions, and only assign women as a last resort, or when a Women makes a big stink about having one. Removing the ban actually changes very little.

To quote George Carlin: We should have women in the military, that way if we lose we can just say, "Big deal you beat a bunch of girls".

Don, that's not how the Constitution works. In fact, it works exactly the other way around. If there's no express right in the Constitution or one fairly implied, then there is no Constitutional right, whatever's at issue. I see no provision of the Constitution expressly granting women the "right" to serve in combat. Nor do I see any provision that even fairly implies such a right.
