They can't fill out the staff with volunteers?

And I love the grammar in this sentence by Philly.com writer Alfred Lubrano:
"The 22,370-square-foot museum sits, mostly underground, at Third and Market Streets, near where Franklin's house once stood."

    Nice, misuse, of, commas.
You, must, be, related, to, that, lowbrow, halfwit, Anthony, Lubrano, who, won't, quit, trying, to, convince, us, Joe, Paterno, and, Penn, State, were, framed.

    Amirite or amirite?

I hate to burst your bubble, LDPhilly, but the sentence is grammatically correct.

Ben Franklin is rolling in his grave. With renovation costs of $1,000/SF the problem isn't sequestration; it is the over bloated federal design and construction process. Every single $23 million renovation of 23,000 SF job in the US should be shut down. I am not opposed to federal spending, but this is wasteful beyond any justification. Build affordable housing - build schools - build playgrounds, I don't care. Just stop wasting money.

Social climbing status hungry "civic minded" individuals who begged to get on Franklin Institute's Board of Directors now have their opportunity
to show what "concerned" citizens they are. There's also a lot of "old money " on this board. Let them all reach into their pockets in this time
of need or move on to a less prestigious organization where they can take up space with less financial demands.

Just cherry-picked for show. The Federal government is spending $4 million on 2 studies about why Lesbians are fat and why they drink. Nobody cares except the connected people who get these gifts. There is plenty to cut so quit crying about it so you can play politics.

Gosh, I didn't even realize there was a Benjamin Franklin Museum. I thought the headline was talking about the Franklin Institute, and I was wondering what was going to happen to The Heart.

No! I was so excited to see this re-open. Ben would be heartbroken!

The house actually passed a bill before the sequester took effect that would allow the president and his cabinet to make the cuts in a more sensible matter. Which of course he refused, so he could absolve himself of blame for anything that happens and blame congressional republicans who didn't come up with the plan in the first place.

Every time a news outlet reports some is going to happen because of the sequester, they need to put "allegedly" in the headline. Because the millions that gov't agencies waste on conferences can easily make up for some of these pains that obama would promise would happen, and told his cabinet officials to make sure happened.

It would be most unfortunate if the museum didn't for the summer.
I don't think most Americans know of all of Franklin's accomplishments.

There's a video on ColonialAmerica.com about his support of privateers to capture British merchantmen.
