He is a sociopath. He has no conscience, morals or ethics. 25% of the population are sociopaths. They are usually the mover and shaker types. Once they reach the top they are invariably surrounded by other sociopaths. Then, they all cover for one another while they pillage, rape and murder the rest of the planet. It is a fact. There is no "cure" for it. They are born like that. It is the way their brain is wired. So, if you notice strange, cruel or indifferent behavior in someone you are friends with, dating or hopefully not married to - leave them immediately. If you notice your child is like this, then God be with you is all I can say, Sad.

After 1992 and the Clinton victory, former GOP leaders went on speaking tours around the world. I happened to see Bush 41, Cheney, and James Baker when I taught at Taipei American School. Cheney (ex- Sec. of Defense) was questioned by a student about the exclusion of gays in the military. His reply was that the military is a very exclusive organization. He claimed he was excluded due to poor eyesight. Yea, that equates well with excluding gays.

    1) Why do you assume he should regret anything? Typical Democrat-Media Complex bias. 2) It was Richard Armitage that "outed" Valerie Plame (if you can call it "outed"), not Libby. Libby was never convicted of that.

You're right -- I should've said he was convicted in connection with her outing. (Actually convicted of perjury, obstruction of justice and one of two counts of making a false statement.) I've written a correction for tomorrow and will try to get it fixed online as well. Thanks.

As for whether or not he SHOULD regret anything, I'd find it hard to believe that anyone who's left their house more than once has no regrets. I, for instance, regret this error. Sorry.

My gosh Ellen, please at least TRY to keep your stridently partisan views from overwhelming your ability to write about a tv documentary.

"More than a hate-watching opportunity"? Is there even a chance you would have written (or thought) that about an interview with Al Gore or Joe Biden, two vice presidents at least as polarizing as Cheney?

And it appears you stopped paying attention to the Valerie Plame scandal at just the moment that it stopped being an anti-Bush cudgel. It turned out that Scooter Libby actually had nothing to do with "outing" her - it was Colin Powell's deputy Richard Armitage.

Is the Daily News even edited anymore?

I am not a fan of any politician. So I am not defending Mr. Chaney. Yet....what a horrible picture...objective reporting and integrity is NOT a mark of your tabloid.

I had bad eyesight and knee bone disorders yet I was accepted into the Army during Viet Nam. The guy had no problem getting his own life going, nor did he have any problem sending young men to end theirs.
