THOUGH ex-cop Jonathan Josey was acquitted by a judge Tuesday of assaulting a woman he was filmed punching last September, the fight is still on and will only intensify, the woman's enraged attorney thundered after leaving court.

If you have photos of the police officers congratulating Josey, then show them. If these sworn officers support a woman-beater, then the public has the right to see them doing it. What's the matter Daily News? Afraid to photograph corrupt and violent police? After the Josey verdict, I can't really blame them.
Hopefully the same Puerto Rican community will put an end to the after party nonsense that led to this incident in the first place. Where is that outrage? Every year there are beatings, disturbances and even sexual assaults and nothing is done at the community level to stop it. We got rid of the Greek picnic and Mardi Gras, we can get rid of the Puerto Rican day parade.
As to the verdict, don't place the blame on the judge. Put it on the brain trust of Nutter, Ramsey and Williams. Like I said yesterday, you give a man 30 days with the intent to dismiss. Make your case airtight in that 30 days. If you let the public push you, it never turns out right. The public has to realize that the DA's office is not taking every case out there. They only want cases that they can win so that they can make their numbers look great. They let the public push them and they blew it. They had enough evidence to win this one and they blew it.
Finally, Ramsey and Nutter can talk as tough as they want. Josey will get his job back. The funny thing is that the lawyer Latoison will get his money but Guzman probably won't see much money at all.— Trident252- Lt. will get his job back and with back pay, rightfully so. Nutter, Williams and Ramsey should learn from this and stop spending the tax payers money just to make themselves look better. - If everyone who goes thug on another person could make up a lame "I hit her accidental-like" on the job excuse and keep their job we'd all be better off wouldn't we. - It is up to the commissioner to make the decision. He could stand on his decision to terminate and then the arbitrator will order Josey hired back with back pay.
If it was me the commissioner, I would take him back but give him a desk job with minimal contact with the public.
