I can't wait for the season to start. I have a feeling that one of the young players, maybe Brown, maybe Ruf, maybe a starter who gets called up, or someone else is going to have a break-out year.

Really? Cause he's performed exceptionally well at every level so far. His Major league career so far has been marred by injury but there's no reason to think that he won't succeed at this level as well. His spring hasn't started out too bad.

Your comment is really baseless and, quite frankly, idiotic.

Sheridan doesn't let the facts get in the way of whatever narrative he wants to make up. According to Phil, Brown's .300 average and .983 OPS was a "poor spring." He came out on fire in spring training last year too. But he wasn't in Amaro's plans so when he tweaked his neck on a bus ride, the Phillies quickly sent him down so as to not rock the boat and disrupt the progress of his stellar off season acquisitions Thome, Wiggington, and Nix.

Blessed with great talent/cursed with great expectations...it's like the tag line to "Spider Man". I think Phil has written the same article about Dommie the past 3 springs.

I have a quiet muted confidence in Brown as well as Ruf. We need them to perform if the Phils will move this year. We still love the older Phils but those big contract men will not push the Phils over the top this year.

i recall brown hit a similar monster home run 3 years ago in an actual game against an actual big league pitcher. not much was done between those two homers. i hope he can hit in the 6 spot, get 80-90 rbis and catch the ball in the outfield. i hope. we all hope.

Soon he will get ABs against major league pitchers. Then we will find out if he has the stuff. I have seen a lot of him and continue to be skeptical.

How many spring seasons are we going to have to read about Dom Brown as a prospective all-star? How many chances has he been given and he has failed? Just maybe it is time to move on?

Tell the Hillbilly NOT to talk to Brown on hitting. It'll only cause problems.
