ISSUE | EARLY LEARNING Investments pay off sooner, and later I was happy to see Gov. Wolf and law enforcement officials make the anticrime case for quality, early-childhood education ("Wolf: Invest in preschool, not prison," May 27). Members of the business community see another critical benefit: strengthening our economy and workforce.
IN A FEW days, the Philadelphia community will lay to rest the Rev. Dr. G. Daniel Jones. He pastored Grace Baptist Church in Germantown with distinction for 31 years. Jones was a decent and collegial man, always quick with a kind and thoughtful word. He was a man of letters who loved the Lord. He pastored his people, served his community, remained faithful to those he called friends and his good works reaped rewards.
