In his 11 seasons as a coach, Doug Collins has spent his fair share of time under the microscope.
He has coached Michael Jordan in Chicago and Washington, and a healthy Grant Hill in his prime in Detroit.

ten day contracts YEAR RIGHT DOUG miketrip
Doug, stop whining, so sorry this has been such a tough year for you, what about the fans and your players! You are the leader, show some leadership! JBP
malik wayns two ten day contracts played about three minutes shelvin mack never got of the bench now jermry pargo the newest addition tell me dc what sense does it make to sign players when you never give them a chance to prove themselves miketrip
What an understatement. Could it have been the fleecing at the hands of the Lakers and Magic. Sixers give up Iguodala in a multi-team trade and get nothing in return. The Sixers give up Vucevic and get nothing in return but an aging Jason Richardson who has been largely ineffective when he plays. They give up first round pick Arnett Moultrie and get nothing in return. Sixers problem is that they are idiots. Get rid of the whiney Doug Collins . He is Larry Bowa light. rockinrob
I have no problem with the overall plan but the execution of it was just wrong. The medical staff should have red flagged the Bynum trade. Since we all pretty much have concluded that Bynum will probably never play a minute here, they should have made other moves. Lavoy Allen is not a center. Kwame Brown is not a player. Hawes is what he is. Collins really didn't have the luxury to not start his best five players. So why he continued to start Richardson is a mystery. The play calling has been suspect. Jimmy Lynam has diagrammed better plays.
Pargo is a nice player and should be a good back up. Hope he gets some time BigVilFromWestPhil
Something that works: trade anyone for boatloads of #1 draft picks. Anyone. For boatloads.
Boatloads.

Quixote II- Agreed. There can be no sacred cows on this team. Make an offer for any of them and if the price is right, take it. This team will never win as presently constructed. Oh, and fire Collins.

Still will be next Philly champ. jerseyjoe
If they keep Collins and add a big man who averages 12/12 and disrupts the paint, Sixers will be champs in three yrs. jerseyjoe
@jerseyjoe, I would agree but the 6ers had opportunities in the offseason to go after a player of that caliber but instead DC brings in Kwame Brown, resigns Hawes/Allen. Doug seems to be anti-athletic big men. femmeballr
JerseyJoe....are you trying to be ironic (describing Vucevic) or are you serious (LOL)? The2ndMostInterestingManInTheWorld- No ,he said win a championship you not doing that with Vic at center

Sixers need to stop wasting money bringing in young players because their coach is not going to play them. DC is so smart he's stupid. Reminds me of a Andy reid, with more whine. ericthered1
There's another column titled something like "Collins reminds players NBA is a privilege" - well did Collins consider that before he uttered the words in this column? It's a privilege to coach in the league too so please stop whining and do something about the team's poor play.
If I were the coach of this struggling team I would have them run, run, run then run some more. They're losing anyway with the style he has them playing so what do they have to lose? Start Holiday, Turner, Hawes, Nick Young and Moultrie and just keep running the ball. Delaware Mike
Boston lost one of the best point guards in the league, and responds with a winning streak, including crushing the Lakers last night. Doc Rivers is a great coach. Doug Collins, not so much. rzzzzz
