RICO cases are just too complicated for a jury to understand. Most lawyers do not get it. Philly Born
I hope they do retry them. Hopefully, they will do a better job on picking jurors. thepaguy
Bada-Bing! cynic al
Hard to believe the Feds fumbled this one. Getting to be like Congress in that office. H2O
Prosecution is not for profit. It is never a waste of taxpayer money. As for the verdicts, jurors are easily confused, and many think that organized crime is 'charming' - they consider these crimes to be 'victimless' until they are the victim. Critic46
WE THE PEOPLE NEED TO STOP THE WAISTED DOLLARS ON THIS AND SPEND IT ON MENTAL ILLNESS SO THERE ARE LESS MURDERS.
HELLOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! topaj
Johnny Chu: Way to make the Asian community pround you moron!! Hey Curt: Your false testimony against Mousie is what convicted him. Hope you sleep well at night scumbag!! elfman
How long until we read about "Bent Finger" Lou in the news? uncle meat
How can a couple of defendants be found Guilty of RICO when the jury essentially was unable to agree upon the Govt's presentation of the RICO's hierarchy? If this would be viewed as a completely lateral organization having no leader at the top of a typical pyramid or organizational flow chart, then the jury was wrong zen
Money talks, jurors stall. Oldest trick in the justice system. cyniccritic
Good for the jury! These wiseguys alleged committed victimless crimes and they weren't convicted of most of them. Meanwhile, how many murders were committed while these guys were on trial?
Misplaced priorities by law enforcement. Sportyrider71
Bent Finger Lou is one nervous dude right now. AJL99
With all due respect to the Justice Department, they generally higher attorneys who graduated with top grades from top law schools and are good at writing and researching. However, many are not good trial attorneys and/or have little trial experience. IT is very unfortunate. Book smarts does not always translate well with a jury. StevenG
What a waste of tax payers time and money! You would think the Feds would have a stronger case. produceman
As for those convicted.. here come the post-conviction motions. Each lawyer must have costs 100s of 1000s of $. Now they have to buy the transcript, yikes AlwaysRight
