This is a nice little project. And it shows how much farther "green" energy needs to go. If you need to plan around sunshine (in the NE, none the less) to do anything, you're just feeding some weird fetish in your head. Where's the wind turbine, the bio-gas generator, the geothermal system? No river/creek nearby to run a water mill? Why isn't the house built halfway into the side of the hill? Cellphone- you think they don't have outages? Get a satphone. Stop with articles on these 1/2 baked ideas. Come back when you find an actual useful house that can live off the grid. verve
