Seawalls seen at Shore

BELMAR, N.J. - As Jersey Shore towns spend millions of dollars to rebuild boardwalks wrecked by Sandy, some are opting for an additional layer of protection in the form of steel seawalls placed between the boards and the shoreline.

    The sea wall in Bay Head worked. While many houses sustained damage from the surge most are still standing and some have to be replaced. Compared to Mantoloking 1/4 mile south of us and with no sea wall, 60 houses are GONE and another 200 have to be replaced.
