IN A CITY where one man allegedly killed another over dog doo and a video of a taxicab driver crapping on a sidewalk went viral, one Old City couple - who doesn't even have a dog - has come up with a volunteer-run program to keep their sidewalks and streets fecal-free.

It's a great idea. Nothing more American than someone seeing a problem and providing a solution. That, undoubtedly is a Democrat trait. I say we need to teach dogs to put their poop in their own bags. We need to open up public schools for dogs that help to obtain that type of skill. Free training programs, reading materials and CD's. Your dog will obtain certificate upon completion.

- Picking up after one's dog shows respect for one's neighbors and society in general. People who pick up after their dogs lead by their example. When more people start showing respect for their neighbors and their society, fewer people will resort to violence as an outlet for anger. It's all connected and every show of respect matters. — ct23

- Miss Loo...I think you are mistaken. In my neighborhood, 99% of the people that I have witnesses not cleaning up are Black Males that live in the PHA housing walking their pit bulls.
