Kim Kardashian went "digitally dead" today, along with Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Serena Williams, Usher and other celebrities in a drive to raise money to fight the global AIDS crisis.

I like his point. These people make money hand-over-fist and expect the little guy/gal to donate or they won't tweet? Give me a break! I'm with Danny... put your money where your 'tweet' is!

I wish the general public would smarten up and start boycotting these obnoxious twits. If I like your music or acting, fine, but I don't need or want to read what you are doing every moment, nor do I care.
Why are people into tweeting and facebook, etc? I don't get it.

bravo Danny, but I don't care because I don't tweet. I don't get why anyone would follow the daily lives of narcisistic no talents. GET A LIFE!

So old school, get over yourself. All of these stars you mentioned donate to many causes (do your homework. The point of getting others to donate is not simply about the money, but a reminder to the rest of the world including our government that HIV/AIDS and our concern for its devastating affects on our communities is still alive and well(not dead as the news media touts or better yet doesn't tout until "World AIDS Day"). Sure, it would be so easy for them to give $333,333.00 a piece, but even still that amount wouldn't solve the problem. People working together across many communities, letting each other know this is still a critical issue is the point. But, I guess that went over some folks head...LOL

Right on Bonaduce. The nerve of these celebrities, if its a cause you believe in then donate yourselves. If you want to raise $ then offer to double the funds raised by the public. A majority of us don't care about your tweets to begin with I am glad they only raised 25k, ha

Howard Stern talked about this on his show this morning as well. He called it the ultimate act of narcissism. it's absurd to try to bully people into donating to a charity by promising that you can no longer follow a celebrity's every move on Twitter. Who cares what you ate for lunch or who you are on your way to visit? Unfortunately, I think this ridiculous move will encourage most people NOT to donate! Self-absorbed morons.

I normally am annoyed at the mere mention of Danny Bonaduce, but our angry redheaded maniac has a very good point this time. I would actually prefer that celebrities stopped thinking that we all care what they are thinking in their hollow minds and dumped Twitter altogether. Until then, I have to agree with Bonaduce - at least on this!

I gotta go with Danny on this one. Even though we are implying our consent to emotional warfare every time we turn on the TV, it gets ramped up more and more as time goes on. Thus reality shows being so popular now.

I hate it when i'm a victim of emotional warfare. Danny's in the right this time.

They could raise a lot more money if they'd promise to NOT tweet anymore, EVER.

Now THERE'S a cause I'd be willing to contribute to!

What do you mean its about "raising awareness"? Name me one person who is not "aware" of AIDS. The same with those BOOBIE bracelets. Its not about awareness. Its about going to school with the word BOOBIE on your wrist.

Like him or not, Danny is usually fairly reasonable when talking about different issues. On this point, he is spot on right. As many others have written, i would gladly pay $1/day if the Kardashian trio of no-talents would crawl back into their hole. Yes, Snidely, the irony is that these three young women are nothing more than trollops who are lucky not to have HIV.

Pretty sure this effort won't encourage folks to donate to charity. No one cares what these celebs are saying anyhow. Whatever happened to telethons where you had to entertain me for 3 hours to convince me to give away my hard earned cash? Now they're expecting people to donate while they keep quiet? Morons....

So I'll never hear from Kim CashagraballIcan and Lady CrapGa and all I have to do is not do anything? I don't see the problem.
BTW, that picture of her in the casket is great, but I don't want her to be gone, but just go away.

I cannot believe all you selfish people. do you all have a heart? Bonaduce was cute as a kid, especially on TPF, but as an adult, he is too angry. no kind words for celebs who give a darn about anyone. I agree with Sagoboi, it is so easy for celebs to do it, and they do donate all the time. It is the rest of us who don't. Why do you think places like the United Way ask for money, because GQ Public does not gives a rat's arse about who gets helped in this world. NO ONE CARES ABOUT HUMAN LIFE ANYMORE. if people cared, then organizations and celebs would not go to such extremes. If all of you who had negative comments about this boycott were to get something like AIDS, I hope you would ask if someone would be kind enough to make sure you were well taken care of. If not, then you would wonder what is wrong with this world. think about it the next time someone like Danny makes a stupid comment like that.

I don't see how this is any different than when people go to "jail" and encourage their friends, families and coworkers to donate "bail" in order to spring them, with the money going to charity. You may not like vacuous celebrities, Twitter and/or Facebook, but this isn't any different, and I find it surprising that so many people are missing it and getting offended.

I agree with Bonaduce. These celebrities waste in a day what many make in a year. Charity begins at home, so let them put their money where their mouths are.

Thank you Thank you - I am so glad somebody spoke up about this, I was hoping somebody would. It is insane that so many people are struggling and out of work yet these celebs think that their followers should donate on their behalf. I just hope that they lose all their followers and besides is it really them behind the account or do they have an employee doing it for them? Bill Gates did it right when he donated half his worth and challenged 40 billionaires to donate half their worth as well.

We're not selfish...they are! I'm sure most of us do what we can to help out the various organizations. I WON'T be participating in this nonsense.

@sangboi: You seem to be the one missing the point. Yes, it's great when celebrities use their status to motivate the public to donate to a good cause. The problem here is, these celebrities aren't actually "doing" anything. How about matching any funds donated? Why don't Seacrest, Gaga, Alicia Keys use their contacts to put on a concert where all proceeds to to HIV/AIDS? But instead, they way they chose to motivate people is by them not doing something. Really? Not effort on their part -- in fact, less effort on their part.

I agree with Bonaduce on this one. What egotistical pigs these celebs are. How about them donating and encouraging others to donate on their sites? The spirit of giving is doing so because you truly care. It should't go hand in hand with the desire to read these egotistical celebs' every move via socail media. They all think too highly of themselves. Stop making about yourselves and encourage people to donate to this worthy care by providing information etc.

Unfortunately all America creates today are movies, music, and terrible meaningless celebrities. Our economy is in the toilet? 1 out of 3 are out of work? Don't worry, Ryan Seacrest just made tens of millions of dollars for doing absolutely nothing. Our once strong nation that led the world is producing high quality products of all kinds is now and third world nation because we create nothing of substance. While music and movies are fun to to enjoy the times call for people to step up and say enoughs enough. To get out of the great depression we now find ourselves in we must ignore this useless meaningless drivvle spouted from "celebrities." Heres an idea, lets make scientiest, noble laureates, farmers, engineers, etc the celebrities of our nation. These people actually contribute to societal growth.
