Rube changing his Lee story!

A month ago, Rube said that he couldn't financially keep Halladay and Lee, in today's Bob Brookover article, he say's that the Phils could have kept both but it was a "baseball decision" to trade Cliff Lee...then proceeded to storm out of the press conference! The Lee trade will continue to haunt Amaro and define him as a GM!

No Amaro never said it was all about money. He said before that it was a baseball decision and that the team needed to replenish the farm. That being said, looks like he didnt even get that done with the trash they got back from Seattle.

The Lee trade = Dumbest move in sports history. It's not even hindsight either; we all knew it when it happened.

This trade was a disappointment from the start and continues to loom over Ruben and the organization very largely. Had we kept Lee, quite simply, we wouldn't be looking for quality pitching right now. Bad move. And it will be the Phils' undoing! 7 prospects to ultimately acquire Halladay is dreadfully bad management!

Wasn't the comment basically if we had Lee we couldn't have Halladay? I mean how else do you interpret that.
