Restaurant-starved Elkins Parkers have been cheering the arrival of this ambitious Mediterranean-inspired BYOB overlooking the Creekside Co-op from two veterans of the Commissary and Starr Catering. The casual but sophisticated mood is right, and the menu is appealing. Unfortunately, consistent lapses in execution spoiled what could be a game-changing bistro for this sleepy northern burb.
Amuse-bouches; chickpea soup; beef short ribs; mujadara; Kit Kat bars; lemon-thyme polenta cake.
BYOB. Try a Rhône-style red or dry Spanish white to pair with the Mediterranean flavors.
Can spike into the high 80s, but generally a pleasant, conversation-friendly 84 decibels. (Ideal is 75 decibels or less.)
Dinner Tuesday through Thursday, 5-9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, until 9:30. Brunch first Sunday of each month, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
