Cheesemaking class with Rynn Caputo, with demonstration in stretching mozzarella, strachiatella, burrata and more. Taste-testing is encouraged, as is hands-on preparation. Students will receive one pound of cagliata curd to take home and put their new mozzarella-making skills to the test. The class will take place in the Rick Nichols Room at the Reading Terminal Market, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Cost is $40. Exclusive pop-up dinners and brunches by blogger Barrett Bridenhagen of "Dirty Laundry Kitchen" will be held at Betty's Speak Easy for dinner on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and for brunch on Sundays, during the month of July. Barrett's menu will alternate each week, featuring dishes such as seafood bouillabaisse and for dessert, a lemon verbena sheep's milk ice cream, along with cocktail bites, bread and homemade butter, and a sweet treat to take home. Barrett will demonstrate her entertaining skills and her knack for creating an elegant, yet comfortable, dining experience.

July 20: Brewing Basics Workshop by Counter Culture Coffee, held at it's Philadelphia training center from 10 a.m. to noon and open to all coffee lovers and at-home baristas. Learn brewing techniques, with focus on grind size, brewing times, and coffee-brewing recipes. There are nine spots available in the class, costing $75 per person. Each student will go home with a $15 cash voucher for the Counter Culture online store, a Counter Culture ceramic pour-over brewer, and a packet of coffee filters.
