Night Market, the roving outdoor street market that showcases neighborhood eateries and gourmet food trucks, comes to Mount Airy on Aug. 4.

A project of the nonprofit Food Trust (whose Headhouse farmers market is one of the liveliest in the city), Night Market made its debut on Passyunk Avenue in October 2010 and came to University City last June.

This time, the 7000 to 7200 blocks of Germantown Avenue will be closed between Sedgwick and Mount Airy avenues from 6 until 10 p.m. for the fair, which will feature performances by local bands; beer from Earth Bread & Brewery and from McMenamins; and food from two big winners at the recent Vendy awards: Gigi & Big R Caribbean, and Sweetbox Cupcakes.

Admission and parking are free. Details are at nightmarketphilly.org.
