Nathan's Peanut Brittle

The recipe is from his great-grandfather, but Nathan Moore, 20, of East Oak Lane, perfected the technique for making great peanut brittle by watching his grandmother and his great-grandmother stretch the brittle on a slab of heated marble. Moore waits tables at Under the Oak Cafe and his homemade peanut brittle is available there now through Valentine's Day.

Nathan's Peanut Brittle, $15 for a one-pound red gift tin; or $4.50 for 5 oz. taster packs. Exclusively at Under the Oak Cafe, 804 Oak Lane, Phila. 19126; 215-924-1410; open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tues-Sat; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Closed Christmas Day.
