MarketBasket: Great BBQ in Phoenixville
Not for teetotalers
Drinks that incorporate tea are now stylish at cocktail bars across the country - and hot tea with a splash of whiskey is, of course, a wintertime fallback. For home bartenders seeking a foolproof way to experiment with the trend, Owl's Brew offers premixed, all-natural tea-based mixers spiked with agave and lemon peel.

Phoenixville's new pit
Calling the new Uncle B's BBQ a "smoke shack" is a stretch, since pit master Brian Howell's home base is no more than an oil-drum smoker in the parking lot of Fenice Creolo. But Howell's take-out-only smoked meats are serious, seasoned with a complex rub and thoroughly imbibed with the perfume of hickory, oak, and birch. I was especially fond of the brisket, tender from a 15-hour ride, and the baby back ribs, which still clung, just barely, to the bone. Howell's sauces (especially the tangy-sweet K.C.-style) are also excellent. Come Super Bowl party time, when smoked chicken wings will also be hot off the grill, I'm sure this "shack" will be the place to be.
