It’s time to start slicing that bread and loosening those belts — August is National Sandwich Month!

The first recorded sandwich was by the famous rabbi, Hillel the Elder, who lived during the 1st century B.C. He thought of the spectacular concept of putting bitter herbs between two pieces of matzo during a Passover feast. Lucky for us, sandwiches have become a little more tasty and creative since then.
