'World's' largest mobile pub to debut in Philadelphia

As if Philly Beer Week isn't special enough itself, on Saturday, May 30, Bend, Ore., brewery Deschutes will host the East Coast debut of its mobile pub tour at Headhouse Square (Second and South Streets) from noon to 10 p.m.

The brewery's billing this as the "world's largest" pop-up pub and includes 40 taps of Deschutes brews offered behind a 402-foot custom bar that will travel across the country. The brews will include seasonal summer styles and heavy-hitters, such as their Russian Imperial Stout – the Abyss.

Besides the hefty number of crafts being poured, guests can eat food from local Philadelphia eateries, including Alla Spina, Lo Spiedo, Mom Mom's Polish Food Cart, and the Twisted Tail.

At each of Deschutes' stops nationally, the brewery will donate 100 percent of the proceeds toward a local charity. The Vetri Foundation, which helps kids understand the benefits of eating healthy food, has been selected as Philadelphia's charity.

Other cities on the tour include Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, and Sacremento.
