When do you close a 24-hour diner?

POSTED: Sunday, January 20, 2013, 9:38 AM

Harvest Diner on Route 130 in Cinnaminson is closing today (Sunday, Jan. 20) after 19 years.

The owners of Sage Diner in Mount Laurel plan to open there in the spring, as reported by Cinnaminson Patch.

But when do you actually close when you're a 24-hour diner?

"We're actually not sure," said Harvest's day manager, who didn't want to give me her name, chuckling. "We're thinking sometime overnight."

Either way,  Monday morning, Sage folks will be in there to start work. Sage management told me they're not sure if the Cinnaminson location will be a 24-hour operation. Sage is not.

Sage manager Bobby Roustas, whose family has owned Sage for 21 years, told Patch they planned to "redo the inside, the outside, everything."

Patch story is here.
