Want to buy a famous restaurant?

Gilmore's restaurant racked up the awards in its 11 years on Gay Street in West Chester.

Since chef-owner Peter Gilmore elected to shut the BYOB's doors last July, it's been empty.

But you can buy the joint, clean it up, and be a restaurateur.

The listing, by Linda Theuer of Prudential Fox & Roach in Malvern, is asking $410,000. Public records show that Gilmore's LLC paid $235,000 in 2001.

"You're not just buying the building and business, but also the prestige of the famous dining atmosphere," goes the description. "Wonderful investment opportunity and building includes two newly leased apartments. Beautifully decorated with fully operational kitchen plus a garden back setting and deck. 2nd & 3rd fl. apartments are recently renovated and just into a 1 yr. lease. Room for 6 cars in rear. Location, location on the main street in the historic section of the boro, walk to everything. New public garage is 1/2 block away, new Hotel 2 blocks, Courthouse 5 blocks."
