Solomonov is named an 'empire-builder'

Food & Wine is out with a list of chef/restaurateurs it deems empire-builders.

Among the roster is Michael Solomonov, who not only is chef/co-owner of Zahav, Percy Street, and Federal Donuts, he has a hand in at Citron & Rose in Merion Station.

He was selected because he is "devoted to reinventing overlooked cuisines (Israeli, Eastern European) and making American classics, like fried chicken and doughnuts, even better with exotic spices and chef-y techniques."
