Percy Street BBQ's Comcast Center shop closes

Percy Street BBQ's Comcast Center shop closes
Michael Klein, Philly.com
Percy Street BBQ has pulled the plug on its satellite shop in the Market & Shops at the Comcast Center, which opened in November 2011.
Parting was sweet sorrow, as workers handed out free sandwiches on the last day, Friday, March 29.
The shop had replaced Au Bon Pain in the prime spot at the top of the ramp leading into the building.

Nothing can last there. The employees at Comcast can't afford that stuff everyday and they are the only clientele. No one walks down there. Soon it will be another concourse with boarded up shops smelling like pee. MS. LOU.- You have no idea what you're talking about. The shops down there do killer business, and yes - I'm there almost every day myself.
The problem with Percy Street was 2-fold: 1) no kitchen. The food was cooked elsewhere, brought in, and reheated (except for when they screwed up and gave you BBQ that was still cold). And 2) the BBQ was bad. I'm sorry - I'm a big fan of Solomonov, but the BBQ at this place was just the worst I've ever had. I gave them a few chances to see if it would improve, but it never did, so I stopped going. So did most everyone else, it seems. guzzijason
The BBQ was awful...the spot was too sterile. No wonder it failed. PhillyBurbs
The food wasn't that good. It tasted like leftovers. victim35
Percy Street BBQ on South is exceptional. Very sorry to read negative comments about their food at the Comcast Center. Jeff West
ms lou you obviously have not been there during lunch when its packed. The remaining shops there see plenty of business and not just from Comcast employees. FunCakes
Lololol at the trolls who never leave their troll huts. Place was constantly packed. They should've kept the bbq sandwich on a long Liscio's roll instead of switching to the ordinary (but more traditional) round roll. Cheesesteak
Got a pulled pork sandwich there once, asked for onions on it. "No, we don't have onions." Walked across the food court to the produce stand, brought back onion, asked them to cut it up and put it on the sandwich. To their credit they did it, but is onion on bar-b-que really that crazy of a concept? edfoley
On its way to be another low rent Philadelphia craphole. And I've been there in morning and lunchtime and after work. Many overpriced shops with rude employees, terrible food unless you want to pay $20 for lunch, and its not safe. Give it 5 years, it will be just like RR stations and the gallery. get your food from the WAWA intelliwoman- A place that seems "packed" for an hour or two is not enough to sustain the remainder of the day. Perhaps Doctor will open up another plastic surgery center in this location. The people I see down there look like they would be excellent candidates for tummy tuck and the latest platysma muscle necklift.
This place closed because it was terrible for multiple reasons. The food wasn't good, the inside was setup very poorly, and the location was simply too small. It wasn't a good value either. That is not a winning combination and it probably impacted their brand negatively as to affect their main restaurant, which is supposedly good. It did for me at least. NickFromGermantown
I had better food at the ball game. Wilhelm Von Humboldt

Disgusting food at this fake outlet. #1 With A Bullet
I thought that their food was excellent considering that this was a sattellite location. Now I'll have to go down to South Street when I want delicious Texas style barbecue. :( commuter
