Great places to drink beer in the outdoors

Here's a few other recommended outdoor beer-drinking locales.

Here's a few other recommended outdoor beer-drinking locales:

Drury Beer Garden (1310 Drury St.) Look for it behind Greek-focused Opa (and tiny Drury's trash dumpsters). A funky, fun destination (last time I was there, they were racing turtles) with good cans and drafts.

Llama Tooth (1033 Spring Garden St.). Conveniently located on one of the city's crosstown thoroughfares, this muralized patio makes a fine spot to wait out afternoon traffic jams.

Silk City (435 Spring Garden St.) Just down the street from Llama Tooth, this brightly colored beer garden has the look of the Do Lung Bridge scene in "Apocalypse Now." Minus the acid trip, of course.

Memphis Taproom (2331 E. Cumberland St., Port Richmond). It's amazing how much you can fit into just one vacant lot: picnic tables, a food truck and a large projection TV for watching Phils games, among other thigns.

The Piazza at Schmidt's (1001 N. 2nd St., Northern Liberties). Not technically a beer garden, but there is free music, a huge TV and plenty of outdoor seating adjacent to the likes of Gunner's Run, PYT, Crabby's and King's Oak.
