Brothers on a roll in Northern Liberties

POSTED: Tuesday, November 6, 2012, 12:08 PM

Del Rossi's Cheesesteak Co., replacing a very-long-shuttered vegetarian restaurant on Fourth Street just north of Spring Garden, puts brothers Michael and David Frank in business together.

David, 40, was in the financial world, while most recently Michael, 43 - who's been in the food biz since he was 17 - was involved in two Mike's Steaks operations - one in the Comcast Center, which he sold to a partner, and in Two Liberty Place Two, which is now Rick's Steaks.

Besides sandwiches, they're selling pizza/stromboli, chicken, vegetarian and salads, and burgers. It's open Sunday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to  midnight, till 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.

As for the name: Michael Frank's wife, Amanda's maiden name.

Del Rossi's Cheesesteak Co., 538 N. Fourth St., 267-687-8874.

Checked this place out this past weekend and had a pretty good cheesesteak. Hoping it becomes a staple in the neighborhood.
