Mount Airy folks surely remember the Goat Hollow Tavern, a former corner tap off Lincoln Drive that grew into a nice little place (with a decent beer list) that had a solid run from 1988 till it closed in 2004.
This month, Neil Campbell, owner of Race Street Cafe in Old City, and business partner Andy Shahan will open it as Goat Hollow (300 W. Mount Pleasant Ave.) after an extensive renovation that's yielded a look they're describing as homespun American brasserie.
Chef Adam Glickman, an alum of Monk’s Cafe, is going the hearty route with entrees, burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads. There will be a craft beer list and artisan cocktail program, including house-infused liquors and syrups. It will be open daily from lunch/brunch through late night.
They're keeping it local. Nearby companies - including Metcalfe Architecture and Design, Philadelphia Salvage, Fillippi Bros., Inc. and Design Nehez - are doing the work.
