Vandals hit at the rooftop.
Le Bec Fin tagged with graffiti
Michael Klein, Philly.com
Is nothing safe?
Graffiti vandals have struck Le Bec Fin and the Lush Cosmetics store on the 1500 block of Walnut Street. Unlike the cretins who tag buildings at ground level, these crooks took to the rooftops.
Le Bec Fin owner Nicolas Fanucci said this happened overnight Saturday. He hoped his insurance would cover the removal.

I blame Jane Golden. Captain Terrific
@Bruno Sammartino, I am hoping that your suggestion is sarcasm. You suggest adding more police and cameras? Why not use this money to help fix the public school system? The smart kids are the ones that are dropping out, they see where the money is and go out and get it. Heck, if I were in one of these city schools I would do the same thing! phillyphreak36
These "cretins" are likely local art students, who think that they can make a name for themselves doing this. Why doesn't the real estate community make an effort to stop it? It's not just in town. The area around the Art Museum is hard hit. mel seligsohn
You guys are all wrong. This is clearly George Bush's fault. Another_1

PHILLY ROCKS. units123 - when was the last time you took a stroll through olney, eastwick or tacony after sundown?

Its what happens when losers who drop out of 3rd grade to sell drugs have free time on their hands.
I agree that cameras need to be placed everywhere. And more cops. Lets hire another 1000 cops. Place them in areas where people care about their neighborhoods. Bruno Sammartino
real smart, write in the paper about it and that its getting removed, it'll be about 3 nights before it gets tagged again.
WAY TO GO you_got_calledout
My God, it's the end of western civilization!!! Dadair1

@215cookin: Bingo! These are overindulged, spoiled brats who are difficult to catch.
Graffiti makes me REALLY angry, but calling for death or even politicizing this shows how small someone's mind is. Seriously. Anger management might be in order for Barbouze. PotteryPete
@knicks84 - don't forget about Bernie Goetz, crime dropped over 90% in the NYC subway dennyd
This comment has been deleted. PotteryPete- They are NOT the "usual suspects"... Sorry.

I agree. The tagging could have been more creative. Other than that, who gives a rat's fanny? Hamlet
Impressive journalism here on such a tragic story. I can't wait to read their piece on the candy wrapper someone dropped in front of Buddakan over the weekend. SchmidtUltra
Hey Philly, you pay taxes for the following (very effective) service: Anti-Graffiti Task Force: (215) 686.0000. Press 1, then 1 again and leave address, phone number, name and they'll remove the graffiti no questions asked in a few days. I would wager they'd even remove this kind of graffiti if someone gave them access to the roof. 19151
That's prime real estate. What a great opportunity to make a statement. Maybe something along the lines of "This is how the 1% pay their Philadelphia taxes." But it's just names. No creativity behind these tags. Such a sad state for Philly's street art scene. Edward Creed
This has been happening up and down the 17th st corridor and the cops do NOTHING about it. I wonder how much paint we have to be covered in before the cops take an interest in this type of vandalism. God forbid they pay attention to the city's needs. It probably hurts their commute to the suburbs. jonline

You've given the taggers exactly what they want.... publicity and attention. 215cookin
The resteraunts have a lot of nerve calling taggers a name. Look at the prices on the menu. Who are the real crooks again? ricciaje
Probably some folks from the Main Line who were unhappy with the foie gras. TyroneShoes
"crooks" - really? This blog entry is silly. person19107
Wait until the 47% decide to break-in, rob the patrons and steal the silverware, wine and liquor. Just spreading around the wealth. Wilhelm Von Humboldt
Sorry, guys, when you wouldn't give me and my girlfriend a reservation she kind of flipped out... Hamlet
Totally disgusted. But then, what can you expect? DwightinDC
