Koo Zee Doo to close
The mom-and-pop Portuguese-inspired BYOB in Northern Liberties couldn't make it happen.
If you've been meaning to experience the Portuguese-inspired deliciousness of Koo Zee Doo, the Northern Liberties BYOB, you have till July 14.
That will be its last night, according to husband-wife owners Carla Gonçalves and chef David Gilberg.
The lease is up, and "it's not financially viable," Gilberg told me this morning.
Business over the last three and a half years has been up and down, he said - repeating the mantra that afflicts so many BYOBs: "slow during the week and almost too busy Saturday night."
The couple plans to take a step back and resurface elsewhere.
