LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - ABC's next "Bachelor" is Chris Soules, the network confirmed Wednesday morning. Soules was announced as the newest headliner of the long-running reality dating series on "Good Morning America."
After making it to the final three in Andi Dorfman's season of "The Bachelorette," Soules will again vie for love in season 19 of the "Bachelor" franchise, and believes he can "absolutely" find love again after being rejected by Dorfman. "I wouldn't do it if I didn't feel like that was a potential," he insisted on "GMA."
After getting the offer, Soules admitted that, "I was humbled, flattered, grateful. Coming from a small town, I'd never really expected to have this opportunity to be on either show, let alone be the lead on 'The Bachelor,' so it's been awesome."
The 32-year-old farmer hails from Arlington, Iowa and said that coming into the new season, "My focus is going to be to make the girls that are on the show as comfortable as possible because that was my first, initial challenge, was opening up to Andi."
The new season of "The Bachelor" will premiere in January 2015.
