Molly Eichel's TV Picks: SummerSlam with Jon Stewart, 'Vicious,' 'Public Morals,' 'The Carmichael Show,' 'Narcos'

WWE SummerSlam. Jon Stewart has found his first post-Daily Show gig: hosting the WWE's big summer pro wrestling pay-per-view event. This isn't the first time Stewart has entered the WWE ring. This year, he took on rival Seth Rollins on Raw. Stephen Amell, the studly star of the CW's better-than-it-should-be Arrow, will team up with Neville to take on Stardust and King Barrett. 7 p.m. Sunday on the WWE Network (or $44.95 PPV).

Vicious. Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi return as longtime partners who have kept their loving relationship going by insulting each other (and everyone else) whenever possible. 10:30 p.m. Sunday on WHYY.

Public Morals. Edward Burns' pet project comes to TNT. The onetime indie-film wunderkind stars as Terry Muldoon, a cop working in New York's public morals department (think vice) in a generalized, undefined mid-20th-century setting. Michael Rappaport (who certainly has the right accent) plays Muldoon's partner, and Brian Dennehy heads the bad-guy contingent. 10 p.m. Tuesday on NBC.

The Carmichael Show. Buzzworthy (and excellent) comedian Jerrod Carmichael goes the sitcom route with this six-episode series featuring the great Loretta Devine and David Alan Grier as his parents. Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors) shepherded the show to the small screen. 9 p.m. Wednesday on NBC.

Narcos. Netflix gets epic with this crime drama about Pablo Escobar (played by Brazilian star Wagner Moura) and his Medellín Cartel. Escobar's story - the real man is seen in file footage - is used to tell the story of the political history of Latin America and the rise of the drug cartel. 10 episodes stream Friday on Netflix.
