"The Cosmobiography of Sun Ra," by Chris Raschka (Candlewick Press, $15.99). Superb, colorful children's book that charts Herman "Sonny" Blount's journey from boyhood in Birmingham, Ala., to captain of the Sun Ra Arkestra, which set sail from Philadelphia on a boat bound for a new world of sound.

The Game. Is MI5 agent Joe Lambe (Tom Hughes) a duplicitous double agent or an honorable spy loyal to Queen and crown? This tense, low-tech Cold War espionage TV series is set in early 1970s Britain. Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on BBC America.

Vacationer. This Philadelphia "nu-hula" band's tropical pop was a standout in the summer heat at Made in America. Touring behind the new album Relief, the ensemble, fronted by Abington's own Kenny Vasoli, is the warm-up act on tour with moonlighting Fun guitarist Jack Antonoff's Bleachers. 8 p.m. Tuesday at Union Transfer, 1026 Spring Garden St. ($25).

Sound of Market. The family-owned 11th Street second-story record store, which has been serving R&B, jazz, rap, and rock fans for more than 40 years, is closing, a victim of Market East revitalization plans. All remaining stock is 40 percent off. The Center City institution's last day is Black Friday.
