Wizard World 2014: Jason David Frank says Philly is 'Morphin' into something special

If you thought he was an animated character as Tommy Oliver in “Power Rangers,” wait until you ask him about Wizard Con.

IF YOU THOUGHT Jason David Frank was an animated character as Tommy Oliver in "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," just wait until you ask him about Wizard Con Philly 2014.

"I love Wizard . . . they're there for the fans," says Frank. "They're very organized and I know what I'm getting into. I'm doing a Q&A, I have VIP Meet and Greets and I have a karate class that's free on Sunday."

"It's just the best," Frank added. "You might have one or two actors from people's favorite shows from the '80s and '90s and then have people from current shows like 'The Walking Dead.' Even kids that show up on Sunday get a chance to have something to do because . . . there's stuff for kids."

"There's cosplaying - I judge costumes - and a lot of people come in and dress up and the kids and adults love that," Frank added. "It's a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to a sold-out show this year . . . I bring the energy and the fans bring the energy and I just love reaching out to fans and meeting everybody - so I'm really looking forward to being there."

He doesn't see interest in Tommy Oliver waning.

"'Power Rangers' is probably more popular than ever, because the kids from 20 years ago are all grown up now," Frank said. They're able to buy their own toys and travel around to cons and meet their childhood heroes."

Frank sees Wizard Con Philly getting stronger as well.

"This Philly show is getting bigger," Frank said. "When there was a line for my first show I was shocked - but it just gets bigger and bigger."

"Being out there is important, but being accessible on social media and websites - and I do care."

"I want to be the best celebrity," Frank said. "Having a long line is great, but I want to give the fans the best experience they can have . . . I feed off the energy of the fans to have the best line, to have the best energy and the best time . . . I want my fans to experience something they won't anywhere else."

"Come meet me and it's going to be the start of a relationship and it'll go on forever."
