Bob Dylan is coming to the Tower Theater in November
The Nobel laureate and his band will perform two shows in Upper Darby.
For two nights!
The Nobel Prize-winning bard this morning announced a fall headlining tour with his band, with a series of shows that will begin Oct. 13 in Valley Center, Calif.
The tour makes its Philadelphia stop Nov. 11 and 12 — Dylan's first since releasing Triplicate, his 2017 three-disc set of songs associated with Frank Sinatra, earlier this year. Gospel great Mavis Staples, whose new Jeff Tweedy-produced album, If All I Was Was Black, is due Nov. 17, is set to open both shows.
Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster.
In other Dylan news, Conor McPherson's play Girl From the North Country, featuring loads of Dylan songs, is a big hit in London, and has to be coming to Broadway in the new year, doesn't it? And Joan Osborne has just released a Songs of Bob Dylan tribute album. Not to mention Old Crow Medicine Show, who rejuvenated a Dylan classic this year at the Philadelphia Folk Fest.
