Early Monday morning, Woodstock legend and folk artist, Richie Havens, died of a heart attack at the age of 72.
Havens was best known for his soulful rhythmic guitar style and influenced many of today’s modern musicians. He also covered a number of hits from the Beatles and Bob Dylan. His last record Nobody Left to Crown was released in 2008.
A statement from the family: "While his family greatly appreciates that Richie’s many fans are also mourning this loss, they do ask for privacy during this difficult time."
