Pearl Jam Setlist, Night One

Due to the mechanical failure of an American Eagle puddle jumper, I missed the first night of Pearl Jam's final stand at the Spectrum. (It's a long story.) C'est la guerre: There are three more shows in the offing.  And never fear, Sam Adams was there on Tuesday for the Inquirer, and his review will be up on the web in the a.m. It's here.

Meanwhile, I got various accounts from within the hallowed hall, from tales of a "Yankees Suck!" chant, to Teenage Kicks blogger Trip McClatchy's report that Eddie Vedder revealed himself to be a "rock god." Here's what Vedder said from the stage about the Spectrum, according to Comcast-Spectacor PR poobah Ike Richman:

"There's a reason why bands like to play in this room. It sounds great in here. It's an honor this band takes seriously playing the last shows at this building. We were flying in yesterday. We can see a gigantic football stadium and a big baseball stadium. And the other arena. The Spectrum looked just like a baby, but the history is the biggest. So we heard Bruce Springsteen tore the roof of the place last week. We have our work cut out for us. We ain't gonna be the clean up crew. By Saturday at ... 2 a.m., we're going to try to play every song we know. there may be some nobody knows."

And here's the set list:
