Hard times The intriguing young director James Ponsoldt is having a retrospective at the Roxy. His second film, the 2012 darkly comic breakout drama Smashed, follows an alcoholic young couple whose marriage is threatened when she attempts to get sober and leave the chaos. Storms of life Shakespeare's romantic fantasy The Tempest contains multitudes in its tale of castaways, spirits, and sorcery. The Commonwealth Classic Theatre performs the Bard's masterpiece outdoors at 6:30 p.m. at the Morris Arboretum's Azalea Meadow, 100 E. Northwestern Ave. Admission is pay-what-you-will.
