Kim Gordon, "Girl in a Band" (Dey Street, $27.99). Sonic Youth bassist dishes on the dissolution of her marriage to bandmate Thurston Moore, disses Lana Del Rey and Courtney Love, and tells her story, from growing up in Southern California to becoming a downtown Manhattan paragon of arty cool.

John the Conqueror / Travel Lanes. Double bill headed up by Mississippi-born Philadelphia gut-bucket blues trio, in tandem with Travel Lanes, the fine new band of local jangle-pop king and former Buzz Zeemer leader Frank Brown. Thursday at the Boot & Saddle.

"The Wrecking Crew!" Denny Tedesco's music documentary, about the Los Angeles studio musicians who backed everyone from the Beach Boys to Frank Sinatra to the Monkees, was completed in 2008 but has been held up from commercial release over music-rights issues until now. Opens on Friday at the Ritz at the Bourse.

"Reefer Madness." The camp cult classic Depression-era anti-drug film will be screened with an improvised live score by Manu Divina's theremin chamber orchestra. Saturday at PhilaMOCA.
