The Barnes Foundation: Exterior
Posted on Thu, May 03, 2012
The limestone-clad “gallery in a garden” designed by architects Tod Williams and Billie Tsien is actually two buildings, linked by a central court that is topped with a long, illuminated light box. The replicated rooms containing the art collection face south, as they did in Merion, and the site – with walkways, pools, seating and sculpture – is richly landscaped.
