MOVIE SYNOPSIS
The Wolfman
Lawrence Talbot's childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades trying to forget. When his brother's fiancée, Gwen Conliffe, tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers. As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor, but as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself -- one he never imagined existed.

To be sure, there are grisly decapitations in Universal's remake of its classic horror title, The Wolfman - the tooth-and-talon handiwork of the beast that rages under a full moon. But thanks to the projectionist at a promotional preview screening at United Artists Riverview the other night, Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, and Emily Blunt spent the first 10 minutes of this fog-shrouded dud with their heads cut off, too.

Sad when a film critic gives a classic horror film remake a bad review because of his bad experience with the projectionist? The moves adheres nicely to the original telling with Lon Chaney with upgraded effects. Benicio plays a good Talbot and the transformation effects were awesome. If some people didnt like the quality of the make up they must have really hated the original ? I literally jumped out of my seat at three times and so will you. If your going to look for modern Hollywoodizing of the story like Van Helsing, well thank goodness, they didnt do that. This story is a faithful recreation of the original with very beautiful sets. I just returned from England 2 weeks ago and I can tell you that Blackmoor Manor looks just like an authentic English country estate. Go see this movie if you like the Classic Horror films. You wont be disappointed.
