Nicole Kidman plays one of Philly's favored native daughters, Grace Kelly, in the upcoming biopic "Grace of Monaco." Directed by "La Vie en Rose's" Olivier Dahan, "Grace of Monaco" also stars Tim Roth as Grace's royal hubby Prince Rainier III, Frank Langella (who narrates the trailer) and Parker Posey. The film follows Kelly in acting retirement so there is, sadly, little chance of any old school Philly scenes. "Grace of Monaco" is currently set for and November 27 limited release (although that can certainly change).

"Grace of Monaco" skipped respected film fesitvals known for launching Oscars winners, like the recent Toronto International Film Festival and the Telluride Film Festival, so reviews are non-existent. But the film already has its detractors: Kelly's family. Prince Albert of Monaco and his sisters, Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie, issued a statement in January decrying the film. "We have had absolutely no association with this project, which claims to be about the lives of our parents."

Kelly, of course, was the daughter of Olympic sculler, construction magnate and mayoral candidate Jack Kelly and sister of former City Councilman Jack Kelly, Jr.
