The National‘s new doc ‘Mistaken for Strangers’ screening at the Troc, special Q&A with Matt and Tom Berninger

This Friday, The National’s new documentary Mistaken for Strangers makes its public debut in theaters, on demand, and on iTunes. The film was directed by vocalist Matt Berninger’s brother Tom, who tells his own tale when he’s invited to be a roadie on the band’s tour.

Tom’s story is that he’s the less-driven, metal head, filmmaking younger brother of Matt, who has quickly risen to major indie rock stardom as the frontman of The National. When Matt was asked to join their biggest tour yet, he jumped at the opportunity and pitched the idea of filming his entire journey. What could, or should have, been a movie focused on the band actually ends up being a heart wrenching story about the relationship between budding siblings.

Mistaken for Strangers is going on a screening tour that will make a stop at Philly’s Trocadero Theatre on Sunday, Mar. 30 at 6 p.m., and it will be the only location that features a Q&A with both Matt and Tom Berninger.

Tickets ($13) are still available but you better grab them fast!
