Miss Piggy and Kermit will marry (again) in ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ with help from Vivienne Westwood

Since the pair hit TV screens, Miss Piggy has chased Kermit the Frog all over the world trying to get him to walk down the aisle. And, in fact, she succeeded at least three times, but the couple’s wedding in the coming Muppets Most Wanted is going to be the real deal.

The pair will wed at the Tower of London, which evidently trumps their other ceremonies because they were just acting. Oh, and, you know, Vivienne Westwood didn’t design Miss Piggy’s dress in the other ones, so there’s that:

“The Long Ivory Court wedding gown, with corset detailing and paillettes made from recycled plastic bottles, and accessorised with an ivory tulle veil is every bit as extravagant as the 'divine diva'.

‘Vivienne Westwood is fabulous - just like moi,’ said Miss Piggy. ‘When I asked her to design this wedding dress for moi's new movie, Muppets Most Wanted, she was thrilled and I was thrilled. The only one a bit 'iffy' about it was the Frog.’”

Westwood, as you may recall, is one half of the duo behind the punk rock moneymaking machine that was The Sex Pistols. Alongside Malcolm McClaren, Westwood took the raunchy aesthetic from the couple’s “SEX” boutique in the King’s Road to the masses in the form of punk fashion, modeled by none other than Johnny Rotten and Company. Shock value was the name of the game, and they did it well.

But don’t expect bondage straps and safety pins for Miss Piggy—she’s far too elegant. That, and punk is dead.
