Gabrielle U. sues BET

Being Mary Jane star Gabrielle Union has filed a breach-of-contract suit against the show's home channel, BET, according to E!News.

Union, 43, alleges BET is trying to film two 10-episode seasons of the show in one massive marathon run in order to "cram all of the episodes into a single season in order to fraudulently extend the term of Ms. Union's contract."

Union says BET has promised she'd never have to film more than 13 episodes per season.

BET says "we feel strongly that we are contractually well within our rights."

'Martin' actor dies

Sitcom actor Thomas Mikal Ford (Martin, The Parkers) has died at 52 in Atlanta, where he had been hospitalized since Sunday, family spokeswoman Joy Pervis said Wednesday.

Martin had suffered an abdominal aneurysm and had been put on life support, his wife, Gina, told TMZ.

Gomez dominates

His music empire brought in a whopping $825 million over the last 12 months. Peanuts cartoonist Charles Schulz is at a very distant second place with $48M. Golf veteran Arnold Palmer ($40M), music legend Elvis ($27M) and Minnesota great Prince ($25M) close out the top five.
