Keith Haring Mural Restoration in South Philadelphia
Posted on Friday, Oct 18, 2013
Keith Haring, who's graffiti-style artwork on the walls of New York City subway stations brought him the attention of the art world, came back to Philadelphia at the height of his worldwide popularity in 1987, and painted a mural at 22nd & Ellsworth in South Philadelphia. After his death in 1990, the mural began to peel away, but efforts are being made to restore the mural. Kim Alsbrooks of Mural Arts is going to "bring the mural back to 1987," by working with photos of the original mural.
