Posted on Thu, May 08, 2014
The 58th annual Daisy Day Luncheon was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Bellevue in Center City Philadelphia on Thursday, May 8, 2014. The annual event benefits the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). There was a cocktail party, silent auction, a lunch and an eye-catching fashion show for the event’s 800 guests. Saks Fifth Avenue has hosted the runway show for the last 10 years, and it is always a highlight for this city’s fashionistas. This year the fashion show featured special guest Zac Posen, a "Project Runway" judge and prominent designer, who presented his fall 2014 collection. The luncheon, featuring cocktails, canapés and couture, and raises more than $1 million each year for CHOP. There was a presentation by Dr. N. Scott Adzick, surgeon-in-chief and director of the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment. He discussed the progress of treatment, and also mentioned that they are close to creating a medication to help cure sickle cell anemia. Honorary chairs for the lunch were Mary and Jed Kelly and gala chairs were Nancy and Richard Wolfson. Auctioneer Jeff Hammond raised nearly $40,000 during the live auction. After the luncheon, Zac Posen held a trunk show at Saks Fifth Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.
