'Outlander' vs. 'Poldark': Who's your Daddy?

As Droughtlander —  that dry time between Outlander seasons —  continues, fans like us have cast a hopeful eye toward Poldark, now in its second season on PBS' Masterpiece (9 p.m. Sundays on WHYY12).

It's set in the same century, the 18th, the same part of the world, the British Isles, and it's likewise based on a pile of novels — eight and counting for Diana Gabaldon's Outlander, 12 for Winston Graham's Poldark — that guarantee many future seasons to come, as long as the ratings hold.
